Property Taxes

The Township of McKellar issues property tax bills on a bi-annual schedule, consisting of an Interim Tax Bill and a Final Tax Bill.

The Interim Tax Bill is mailed in mid-February and is due April 1st.
The Final Tax Bill is mailed in mid-July and is due September 1st.

By law, a Penalty of 1.25% is added on the first day of default and the first day of every month thereafter.

You may also complete a Change of Mailing Address form, and submit to admin@mckellar.ca.

Payment Options

Online & Telephone Banking

Payments can be made through telephone or online banking with the following financial institutions:
Bank of Montreal (BMO), CIBC, Scotiabank, Kawartha Credit Union, Meridian Credit Union, TD Canada Trust (TD), Tangerine, RBC, and National Bank.

Your account number is your Property Roll Number, located in the top left corner of your tax bill.

e-Transfer

We now accept e-Transfers.
Please send your payment to admin@mckellar.ca and include your Roll Number in the message field to ensure proper processing.

In-Person or Mail Payments

We accept the following payment methods at the Township Office:

Cheque (by mail or in person)
Debit
Cash

Please note: Credit card payments are not accepted.

If a receipt is required when paying by cheque, please include:

The full bill
A self-addressed stamped envelope

Cheques must be made payable to “Township of McKellar” in Canadian funds.

After-Hours Drop Box

Payments and correspondence may be deposited after hours in the Township Drop Box, located outside the Office/Library main entrance.
